Meta’s virtual reality platform Horizon Worlds, where users can hang out and play games in the metaverse, isn't very popular yet. Players are dropping off — there are now 200,00 monthly users, down from 300,000 in February, and short of the 500,000 the tech company was hoping to hit by the end of 2022, according to the Wall Street Journal. In memos to staff recently obtained by The Verge, Meta’s VP of Metaverse, Vishal Shah, said not even employees were using it. “For many of us, we don’t spend that much time in Horizon and our dogfooding dashboards show this pretty clearly,” he said to staff last month.
